Pentagon Identifies Marine And Sailor Killed By Afghan Police (Video)

The Department of Defense released the names today of a Marine and Sailor who were killed on August 17 by an Afghan police officer they were training. Marine Staff Sgt. Gregory T. Copes, 36, and Navy Hospital Corpsman Petty Officer 1st Class Darrel L. Enos, 36, of were both based at Camp Lejeune, and assigned to 3rd Marine Special Operations Battalion.

The Pentagon has not released the cause of the service members' deaths, stating only that they died "while supporting combat operations in Farah province, Afghanistan."

However, the families of both men have spoken with local television stations, and told reporters their loved ones were the victims of green on blue violence. The Enos family of Colorado Springs, Colorado talked with the CBS affiliate in Denver. You'll find that interview at the top of this post.
