55 San Diego Kids To Graduate From Drug Court Program

It's graduation day for 55 San Diego youths who have remained drug-free and law-abiding for nine months.

The youths are graduating from a juvenile court drug program at the Vista Hill Stein Education Center in San Diego's Grantville neighborhood, according to center officials.

The juvenile drug court program is offered to youth arrested or cited for non-violent crimes. According to the center's website, the program includes classes on anger management, drug and tobacco use, and alternatives to high- risk behavior.

KPBS has created a public safety coverage policy to guide decisions on what stories we prioritize, as well as whose narratives we need to include to tell complete stories that best serve our audiences. This policy was shaped through months of training with the Poynter Institute and feedback from the community. You can read the full policy here.
