Country music superstar Taylor Swift plans to honor fallen Camp Pendleton Marine Sgt. Wade Wilson by wearing his dog tags in her next music video.
The 22-year-old Wilson, a native of Texas, was killed May 11th in Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment at Camp Pendleton.
Texas television station KBTX-TV reports one of Wilson's Marine buddies, Cpl. Josh Marreel, made a YouTube video asking Swift "just to think of him." In the video Marreel explains:
"Anybody that knew Willy knew that he worshiped you. He even slept with a poster of you in between our beds in Afghanistan."
Well, Swift did more than just think of Sgt. Wilson. Swift telephoned Wilson's parents, and sent condolence flowers with a note that read:
“Wade, thank you for loving my music. I won’t forget it, and I will never forget you. All my love, Taylor Swift.”
According to KBTX-TV, Swift told the Wilsons she wanted to wear their son's dog tags in her new music video as a way of honoring his sacrifice.
