The decision by the U.S. Postal Service to stop delivering mail on Saturday will not affect military post offices.
Theater postal officer for U.S. European Command William Kisersaid said in a statement printed by Stars and Stripes:
“Because the US Postal Service does not deliver mail to APOs [Army post offices], a decision to cease Saturday delivery will have no effect on military mail...
"[Mail shipments] will continue as usual and will still be loaded onto commercial airlines for movement to Europe seven days a week.”
But not just Europe - the Pacific and Middle East as well, Stars and Stripes confirmed.
The USPS recently announced it would only deliver mail on weekdays, starting in August, as a way to save about two billion dollars each year.
