The San Diego Roots Of Hollywood Rebel Dennis Hopper
Aired 3/18/13
Guest: Tom Folsom, author of "Hopper: A Journey into the American dream."
Actor Dennis Hopper created some of the most memorable screen portrayals of all time. He also directed and starred in the first blockbuster independent movie, "Easy Rider." In addition, Hopper was a photographer and painter who championed Southern California's mid-century modern art. But this varied career, which started at Helix High School and the La Jolla Playhouse, was also marred by an erratic, troubled personality.
The new book HOPPER tries to capture the mercurial talents of Hollywood's most famous hippie.
