Now in its 16th season on ITV in England, MIDSOMER MURDERS has been an international phenomenon since it first premiered in 1997. The pilot episode, "The Killings At Badger's Drift" was the highest-rated show on British television that year, and the series continues to garner stand-out ratings.
"Written In Blood" (Parts One & Two) - Gerald Hadleigh (Robert Swann), the secretary of the writers circle in the quiet village of Midsomer Worthy, was never in favor of inviting the best-selling novelist Max Jennings (John Shrapnel) to attend one of their meetings. When Hadleigh is found brutally battered to death, the other members of the circle wish they had heeded his reluctance. Barnaby (John Nettles) and Troy (Daniel Casey) discover that Hadleigh was a man of mystery, with no National Insurance number, no relatives and no marriage certificate to match the wedding photo on display in his house. When another body is found, they have a double murder on their hands.
