Slamgrass? Punkgrass? Progressive bluegrass? Whatever you want to call the music Trampled by Turtles has perfected, we’re in love with it. The boys from Duluth, Minnesota have honed their signature fast and frenetic sound for nearly two decades now, since frontman Dave Simonett initially formed the group in 2003. They’ll be joined by co-headliners Mt. Joy, a band that started off as a rekindling of shared musical ambitions between Philadelphia high school friends Matt Quinn and Sam Cooper. Reunited in Los Angeles thanks to the ebbs and flows of adult life, the pair met multi-instrumentalist Michael Byrnes through a Craigslist ad and the lush harmonic melodies of Mt. Joy began to take root. From a casual side project between high school buddies, Mt. Joy has become one of the definitive sounds of the emerging L.A. folk rock scene. Mt.
