Northrop Grummon today won a $660 million contract to provide information technology services to the County of San Diego. KPBS reporter Alison St John has more.

Supervisors touted the deal as one of the largest contracts in the nation between a local public agency and a private company. San Diego county began outsourcing its IT services six years ago with Computer Sciences Corporation but decided to switch to Northrop Grummon.. County board President Bill Horn said the new contract is a good deal for the County.

Horn: "This is a tremendous contract. I was surprised that it would be so airtight on our side and that Northrup Grummon would agree to this."
