TJ River Estuary considered a biological hotspot
The Tijuana River Estuary was designated by the United Nations as a "wetlands of international significance." But environmental activists say this binational ecological area is threatened by development. Two environmentalists talk about restoration efforts at the TJ River Estuary.
On April 29th, Aquatic Adventures and the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve will organize Wetlands Avengers 2006. Volunteers from all over the county will help restore important salt marsh and sand dune habitats. For more information, contact Aquatic Adventures
