The University of California Chancellor Robert Dynes resisted pressure to resign Wednesday during a regents board meeting in San Francisco. KPBS Reporter Ana Tintocalis has more.
Trustees asked UC President Robert Dynes to provide some real answers as to why his office doled out millions in secret pay and perks to UC executives and faculty. The UC president echoed what he's been saying since the scandal broke -that he was too busy recruiting top-notch academics and overlooked the red flags.
Dynes: "I did not pay enough attention to the compensation part of it, and I did not deal with you, as carefully and as interactively as I should have. I relied on other people and that was a mistake on my part."
Three California senators asked Dynes to resign during the meeting, but the regents did not force the issue. Dynes says his five-point-action plan will change the culture at UC and overhaul compensation practices. Ana Tintocalis, KPBS News.
