San Diegan Ron Nehring has been chosen to lead the Republican Party in California, where Democrats handily outnumber Republicans. Meanwhile, Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is increasingly viewed by conservatives as veering to the left. How can the party be unified and fortified under these conditions? And can the new chairman help the Republicans to take back the state from the Democrats?
