What do Google, eBay and Yahoo have in common? Other than being Internet icons, they were all founded by immigrants. Recent studies show immigrants have a far-reaching impact on company creation and innovation. The National Venture Capital Association says immigrants started 25 percent of venture-backed public companies over the past 15 years. Within the high-tech sector, that number rises to 40 percent. The majority of those immigrant-founded tech companies are in California, a trend especially evident in technology-rich San Diego.
