Tom Fudge: Everybody gets depressed every once in a while. That's what we tell ourselves and what tell our friends. It's part of the language we use. But there's depression and then there's depression . Clinical depression is recognized by the medical community as a mental illness that can have a severe impact on a person's life. One advocacy group, Mental Health American, estimates there are 19 million people in the U.S. with depression, and 16 million who use antidepressants.
