Apparently, HBO Films is making a movie called "Recount" -- a drama based on the controversial 2000 presidential election. Laura Dern is playing then Florida Secretary of State Kathrine Harris and Kevin Spacey plays Ron Klain , former chief of staff for Al Gore and one of the lead attorneys who challenged the Florida results.
It's being directed by Jay Roach , whose experience making the Austin Powers trilogy and Meet the Fockers ought to come in handy! This match doesn't make much sense to me - but the execs at HBO must have their reasons. The film takes a look at the behind-the-scenes political machinations within both the Republican and Democratic c38s.

John Lovitz as his character from Saturday Night Live should be cast as Bush. That character, like Bush has difficulty telling the truth.

Mr. Big from Sex in the City should play Gore. What's his name? You know, from Twin Peaks too. He's kind of creepy but it would work for the Gore pre-environmental, pre-I'm-so-much-more-comfortable-in-my own-skin-cuz-I-didn't-win phase.
