Average Gasoline Prices Still in Record-Breaking Territory
San Diego's average gasoline price is lower than last week, but still in record breaking territory. The Utility Consumer Action Network tracks retail prices at hundreds of local gas stations.
UCAN's Charles Langley says it costs $3.32 cents for a gallon of gas in the county. He says he continues to be surprised that the cost of fuel has stayed so high this year.
Langley : Gas Prices are now 82 cents higher than they were at this time last year. Prices did drop a little bit but this is still the highest price we've ever seen in any December, EVER, in the ten year history of this survey.
Langley says record setting oil prices will have to start retreating before the prices at the pump will come down.
