Shaun Toub plays Rahim Khan in The Kite Runner (Paramount Classics)
In a season flush with literary adaptations, The Kite Runner (opening December 21 in select theaters) may be one of the most anticipated of the year. It is based on Khaled Hosseini's best selling novel about a writer coming to terms with the events of his childhood in Kabul. Listen to my interview with actor Shaun Toub as he speaks about the making of the film and working with the young Afghan actors.
The Kite Runner begins with a phone call
Rahim: Amir.
Amir: Rahim Kahn?
And a voice from the past
Rahim: You should come home.
Amir: Home, I don't know if now's such a good time.
Rahim: Ahh, it's a very bad time. You should come, there is a way to be good again Amir.
