The Difference Between a Pink Slip and a Layoff Notice
Over the past few months the San Diego Unified school district and other districts in San Diego County have been trying to figure out how many teachers they can afford to keep on their payroll for next school year. That's because the governor's January budget proposal included severe cuts to education funding. Now the governor has changed his tune -- he's backed away from making those severe cuts.
