San Diego’s downtown development corporation, CCDC , will hold the first of a series of public meetings today to review the role of its leadership.
CCDC plans to hire a new president, after former president Nancy Graham resigned under a cloud.

Graham resigned, after evidence surfaced that she didn’t recuse herself completely from negotiations with a developer she’d benefitted from financially.
Murtaza Baxamusa is with the Center on Policy Initiatives, a think tank on issues affecting working families. He questions the make up of CCDC’s board, which hires the president. He says they have too many ties with developers

The city of San Diego’s development corporations negotiate multi million dollar building contracts in the city, which the city council then approves or rejects.
Today’s public meeting is convened by a CCDC board member who’s seeking public input on what qualities and experience the next president should have.
