The Democratic presidential convention is next week, immediately followed by the Republican convention. We'll talk about what to expect from the conventions and how the candidates are gearing up for

Tom Fudge : Next week the Democrats gather in Denver to annoint their presidential nominee and put on a show that they hope will win them some votes. The Republicans do the same in my former hometown, St. Paul, Minnesota, the following week.

We're still waiting to hear the big news that's associated with this time in the presidential race. Who are going to be the running mates of John McCain and Barack Obama?
