Vera : And being one of the young people, how mostly everybody says how nobody comes out to vote, I felt that it was up to me and my peers to come out and change that. This is actually the first time I've voted. My sister was here also. We both felt like, I guess it's like the young generation coming up and that should come with a change.
Vera says the Iraq war is one of the most important election issues for him. According to the census bureau, young voter participation has been on the rise since 2000. Census bureau statistics show 18 to 24-year-old voter participation jumped 11 percent from 2000 to 2004. Experts predict its on track to spike again this election.
