Leave it to acclaimed performance artist Guillermo Gómez-Peña to put the extreme in fashion. This Saturday night, Gómez-Peña and his collective of performance artists, La Pocha Nostra , will stage an "x-treme fashion show" at Sushi's brand new performance space downtown. It's called The New Barbarian Collection and ten artists from San Diego and Tijuana have also been invited to participate. I suspect the only recognizable fashion show features will be a runway, red carpet and paparrazi. The rest of the night should look like no fashion show Anna Wintour would ever attend, though there could be a distorted Wintour planted in the audience, one of Gómez-Peña's "sexy pop-cultural rebels" in disguise.
