Todd Blakesley presents "CRAPSHOOT! or Why I Voted for Trump: a love story" at the 2019 San Diego International Fringe Festival.
Blakesley tried to get a Fringe Festival in San Diego almost two decades ago but back then the infrastructure just wasn’t there. But when San Diego Fringe finally became a reality in 2013, he served as festival coordinator.
Now he has created his own show for a world premiere at the 2019 San Diego Fringe.
Blakesley has attended other Fringe festivals and noted, “The personality of Fringe is that it offers a variety of material that doesn’t fit any one theater’s season. You have performances that take risks that a regular theater won’t take, and the most exciting thing is that it is almost like a carnival of performances and events.”
"CRAPSHOOT!" serves up political satire in its one-man show.
"CRAPSHOOT!" opens Friday at 6 p.m. at the Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater in Balboa Park. There are additional performances on June 9 at 9 p.m., June 10 at 4 p.m., June 13 at 7:30 p.m. and June 16 at 7:30 p.m.
