May 4th has become the day that "Star Wars" fans celebrate the films they love. The holiday came about because of the pun you could make about "May the Fourth (not the Force) Be With You."
In honor of the day, you can find things like this exclusive Lego Star Wars toy or you can check out all the "Star Wars" quotes flying about on FaceBook. Basically it's just a day to geek out over the films George Lucas made -- or complain how he changed them or defiled them with Jar Jar Binks . Or you can just revel on the perfection of "A New Hope" and "The Empire Strikes Back."
As a "Star Wars" geek from day one I just wanted to do a little shout out to fellow fans on this day of celebration. So today's the day to watch your favorite episode (hands down mine is "The Empire Strikes Back"), remember favorite quotes, and challenge fellow fans with trivia questions.
Just for fun, here's a student film I showed a few years back called "Mindtrix." It uses "Star Wars" action figures and it celebrates the films and fandom in a way that seems most appropriate to this day. Enjoy. (And if you really are a geek you will appreciate how Lando bulks up after pumping some iron.)
Oh and by the way, Han shot first. And that's how it will always be no matter what George Lucas does to the films.
