We are in the height of film festival season. The Asians and Germans are behind us and now we have the Italians with all their magnificent films, food, and conversations.
The San Diego Italian Film Festival is now 5 years old and growing strong. The festival begins with a mouth-watering showcase of neorealist films, two of which they claim have never screened in the US before. All films shown on 35mm prints from the Italian government.
I will have more on the festival later but I just wanted to make sure you know it's underway and is worth checking out. Most films screen at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park. Check their website for more details.
