Love, heartache, fear, and nationalism all describe the difficult years of World War II. LAND GIRLS takes viewers on a narrative journey of four women all enlisted in the Britain Women’s Land Army. The young women joined the army at different places in their lives, but their friendship and bond during hard times of War is exceptional.
The second series of LAND GIRLS picks up on flighty sister Bea (Jo Woodcock), sensible Joyce (Becci Gemmell) and introduces the reckless Connie (Seline Hizli) who joins them in the Women's Land Army. Their journey continues as they work the fields and forge friendships that will last them a lifetime. Along the way there will be laughs and tears during their experience that will change them forever.
"Back to the Land" (Episode One) airs Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 9 p.m. - New girl Connie Carter causes mayhem from the moment she arrives, Finch desperately tries to save his beloved pet pig, and a visit from a wealthy American industrialist spells intrigue at the Manor House.
"Displaced Loyalties" (Episode Two) airs Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 9:45 p.m. - Bea falls for an Italian POW, and Connie flirts with a bashful piano player while entertaining the troops. Meanwhile, Martin discovers he has detached retinas following his accident, and Lady Hoxley's sister Diana snags herself a wealthy American admirer while helping Jack search for his grandson.
"Final Reckoning" (Episode Three) airs Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 9 p.m. - Connie discovers more about the piano player she is in love with. Joyce realizes there is something wrong with Martin and decides to follow him. Elsewhere, Finch helps Esther raise money by setting up a boxing match with his old adversary Vernon.
"Fight the Good Fight" (Episode Four) airs Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 9:45 p.m. - Connie fears that a young evacuee is in danger, while a death leaves Joyce reeling in shock. Lady Ellen alarms her jealous sister when she shows her warm side, and Jack tries to persuade Bea that Chicago is the safest place for her and the baby. Esther decides to take drastic action to raise the money needed to save Martin's eyesight.
"Darkest Hours" (Episode Five) airs Thursday, August 30, 2012 at 9 p.m. - Connie tries to win Henry's respect by standing up to the overbearing bishop, and Finch is angry to learn Esther received money for Martin's operation. Fed up with the Land Army, Joyce forces Tucker into an admission of guilt, and Lady Hoxley's sister Diana is part of Jack's plan to escape with Bea and the baby.
