PBS NEWSHOUR will provide coverage and analysis of the first 2020 presidential debate between Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif. on October 7 beginning at 6 p.m. in Salt Lake City.
At 5 p.m. PT, NEWSHOUR’s senior political reporter, Daniel Bush, will host a digital pre-show featuring correspondents Lisa Desjardins and Yamiche Alcindor reporting the latest on the candidates.
He will also speak to NEWSHOUR correspondent William Brangham about election security, Dr. Ashish K. Jha about Trump’s COVID-19 diagnosis and the state of the pandemic, and PBS Twin Cities’ anchor and reporter Mary Lahammer about the state of the race in Minnesota and fallout from Trump’s visit there last week.
The 90-minute debate will consist of nine 10-minute segments. Special coverage and analysis continues after the debate with NEWSHOUR anchor and managing editor Judy Woodruff.
