SDG&E Donating $1.2M To San Diego And Orange County Nonprofits

San Diego Gas & Electric will donate more than $1.2 million to nonprofit organizations in San Diego and Orange counties, utility officials announced Monday.

The donation will be made through the utility's "Helping People in Need" initiative, and will be used to help the local military and veteran population along with those in underserved communities, SDG&E officials said.

"During this time of the year, our 'Helping People in Need' initiative will provide much needed support for local nonprofit organizations that work hard every day to feed our hungry, shelter our homeless, assist our disabled, help our veterans, aid seniors and protect families from domestic abuse," SDG&E regional vice president of external relations Frank Urtasun said. "The work they are doing in our community is phenomenal and we are honored to support their goals and mission this holiday season."
