Military Dog Adoption on the Rise Because of Bin Laden Raid?

We may never know the identities of the Navy SEALS who tracked down Osama bin Laden and killed him, but the name of one of the brave souls who accompanied them has become public. Cairo the dog, breed and age unknown, has grabbed headlines around the world since word leaked out that a military canine took part in the raid on bin Laden's Pakistan compound. Home Post wrote about the doggy hero in two posts that garnered a slew of views.

And Cairo's good work isn't finished yet. According to the Associated Press, the number of folks asking to adopt retired military dogs has jumped since word of Cairo's heroism leaked:

Euthanized! Can you imagine? That's no way to treat a military hero! (Or any dog, if you ask me.) So, if you're thinking about adding a furry bundle of love to your family, consider adoption. And if you're interested in adopting a military dog, click here for information.
