Oceanside Marine Celebrates Cross-Country Bicycle Ride

Home Post Blog: Maj. Bill Conner left Oceanside on his bicycle, geared up for a cross-country ride, on Easter Sunday. His goal was to raise money for the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, and that’s exactly what he did – to the tune of $35,500. The Associated Press reports he completed his 3,115 mile journey last Friday in Bethany Beach, Delaware.

Conner is a San Diego County resident, having arrived at Camp Pendleton in March after a deployment in Afghanistan, according to Tulsa World. The paper reports the 37-year-old Conner has also served five deployments in Iraq. (Read more)
