As Home Post reported yesterday, a Sailor from the San Diego-based USS Boxer is missing, and is believed to have gone overboard while the Boxer was performing maritime security operations in the Gulf of Aden. In an email to the Stars and Stripes, 5th Fleet spokesman Lt. Frederick Martin said the helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft search for the Sailor is still ongoing as of Wednesday morning.
The Sailor hasn't been identified yet, but that hasn't stopped the loved ones of the Boxer crew from coming together to share words of support on the USS Boxer's Facebook page. Sharon D. Jones wrote:
