The USS Ronald Reagan will arrive home in San Diego on Friday. The aircraft carrier left Naval Air Station North Island back in February, and soon made headlines when the crew became critical members of the Japan earthquake relief effort in March.
As the USS Reagan makes its way closer to San Diego, family and friends of the crew have been participating in a Tiger Cruise, according to the Reagan's Facebook page:
San Diego television station KGTV reports that a local band called "Birds of Prey" has been invited aboard the USS Ronald Reagan to play as the aircraft carrier rolls into port. The San Diego County-based rock 'n' roll cover band is made up of teenagers who met at the Children's Conservancy of Music Arts in San Marcos. Take a listen:
