Carson City IHOP gunman Eduardo Sencion drove to the scene of the crime Tuesday in a minivan with a "Support Our Troops" sticker on the bumper, according to the Business Insider. He then walked inside the IHOP and used an AK-47 to shoot five uniformed members of the Nevada National Guard.
The Associated Press reports a third member of the Guard has since died of her injuries. Her murder brings the death toll of National Guard members in the shooting rampage to three. One civilian also died, and seven others were injured. Sencion died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Business Insider reports the Carson City IHOP is on the same street as seven military installations and recruitment centers. Sgt. 1st Class Cameron Anderson drove the Nevada National Guard's chaplain to the Reno hospital where the Guard members were taken. He told CBS News:
Oddly enough, authorities say Sencion had no connection to the military. (The minivan with the "Support Our Troops" sticker was registered to his brother.) The Sencion family has told law enforcement officials the gunman had a history of mental health problems, including schizophrenia.
