Did 9/11 Mile High Club Action Prompt Military Jet Escort? (Video)

Did a couple attempting to join the "Mile High Club" on a Frontier Airlines flight trigger such a scare yesterday that F-16 military fighter jets tailed the plane until it reached its Detroit destination? According to a report published Sunday by ABC News, yes. In fact, unnamed federal officials told ABC News that two people "making out" in the bathroom during the flight were to blame for the would-be crisis on Frontier Flight 623 (which originated in San Diego) during the ten-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Well, the FBI released a statement contradicting the ABC News report, and now ABC is retracting the story. According to the FBI statement:

It should be noted that at no time were there ever two people in the bathroom at the same time...

Thus making Mile High Club participation impossible.
