Sesame Street Helping Military Kids in New Ways (Video)

The Sesame Workshop has been on the front lines of developing videos, live shows, and materials to help military children deal with their parents' deployments, according to the Department of Defense. So far, the focus has been on preschool-aged children.

Now the folks behind Sesame Street and The Electric Company have unveiled new resources for older military children, ages 6 to 9, who have started to read.

The new project's website, www.familiesnearandfar.org, has a plethora of games, videos, and computer programs to help kids make music and art. For a closer look, take a look at this special video the Pentagon Channel put together on the project.
