Wolfenbarger's educational background is awe-inspiring. According to the Department of Defense, she graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1980, and earned two master's degrees - one in aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the other in national resource strategy from the National Defense University.

The DoD reports that in her current job as military deputy in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition in the Pentagon:
