Pentagon Responds to Dumping of 9/11 Victims' Remains (Video)

Those are the words of Retired Army Gen. John P. Abizaid in response to the discovery by a DoD investigative panel that the remains of 9/11 victims were dumped into a landfill by the Dover Port Mortuary at Dover Air Force Base.

Abizaid headed up the Defense Health Board investigative panel, which was created in response to the discovery last year that the remains of fallen service members had been mishandled prior to 2008. The DoD subcommittee panel released its report Tuesday, part of which brought to light the dumping of 9/11 victims' remains.

That same report had a list of recommendations for Dover Port Mortuary, to make sure remains are treated with respect and dignity in the future.
