Controversy Continues Over Military Breastfeeding Photos (VIDEO)

Home Post on Evening Edition

The controversy surrounding a photo of two military moms breastfeeding in uniform hasn't let up quite yet. Passionate supporters of breastfeeding and opponents of women doing it in uniform are still having their say in the comments section of the Home Post story.

Just to give a refresher:

It all started when professional photographer Brynja Sigurdardottir snapped unposed shots of breastfeeding service women assigned to Fairchild Air Force Base in Washington state. The photographs were to be used on promotional base posters for National Breastfeeding Awareness Month in August.

I appeared on the KPBS television program Evening Edition to discuss the issue. The video appears above.

This series spotlights people each struggling with their own childcare issues, and the providers struggling to get by.
