House Clerk, GOP Leader Questioned on Foley

Former House Clerk Jeff Trandahl, who oversaw the congressional page program until late last year, testifies for more than four hours before a special House ethics panel looking into the Mark Foley scandal.

The House panel, which also heard from House Majority Leader John Boehner, is investigating how the House Republican leadership dealt with resigned Rep. Mark Foley after learning of his relationships with former pages. Foley has reportedly identified a priest who he says molested him as a child.

Tracked down at an island near Sicily, Rev. Anthony Mercieca has told The Sarasota Herald Tribune that he knew Foley in Florida, and that they were occasionally nude together in saunas -- but he says their relationship was not sexual.
