Spitzer Pushes N.Y. Government to Move Forward

Eliot Spitzer gave his first state of the state address as governor of New York on Wednesday. Fresh from his assertive run as the state's attorney general, he will now take on the state government in Albany.

Spitzer called for an end to "the politics of cynicism and division" that ruled under 12 years of Republican Gov. George Pataki who often gridlocked with the Legislature.
