The Washington Post reported Friday that Nancy Nord, acting chairwoman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and her predecessor went on nearly 30 trips since 2002 that were paid for by the industries the agency oversees.
Also, Democrats in Congress have been calling for Nord's resignation because of the many recent toy recalls and because of her opposition to legislation that would broaden her agency's regulatory role.
