Children will learn about the safe use of hand tools as well as the properties of wood. Along the way, we’ll make fun and functional projects the children can later take home, including a group project that fosters teamwork, collaboration, and creative problem solving. Projects and depth of skill exploration are matched up to the children’s age/ability. This camp is recommended for children 8-12 years. OPTIONAL | Lunch Hour Supervision If there is a camp ending as ours begins and you need your child transferred, let us know! And, if you’d like your camper to stay during the lunch hour, there’s a $25 fee for the week to cover the lunchtime gap. Ned Rorem would have been 100 this fall, and his fourth quartet is based on impressions from a collection of Picasso’s paintings (“sort of,” in the composer’s words). How do other art forms influence and inform each other? How can our dialogue with masterpieces of the past be shared in our performances today? This collection of works on its own can’t possibly answer these questions, but may pose some of its own… Program to include: Haydn – Quartet No. 39 in F♯ minor, Op. 50, No. 4 (1787) Ravel – Quartet (1903) Ned Rorem – Quartet No. 4 (1995)
