  • On Saturday, March 9, 2024, join fellow San Diegans and participate in the Screen Your Gut - Save Your Butt 5K Race/Walk in Mission Bay, to raise awareness about colorectal cancer, the 2nd deadliest form of cancer, and to promote its prevention and early detection. Screen Your Gut - Save Your Butt is sponsored by C4, a statewide, all volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to save lives and reduce suffering from colorectal cancer in all Californians. Funds raised from the event will be used to support C4’s grants program. This program is designed to increase screening to prevent the development of colorectal cancer and to detect existing cancers early, for better patient outcomes.   • August 5 – 9 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. This week of Summer Camp is all about woodworking! Children will learn about the safe use of hand tools as well as the properties of wood. Along the way, we’ll make fun and functional projects the children can later take home, including a group project that fosters teamwork, collaboration, and creative problem solving. Projects and depth of skill exploration are matched up to the children’s age/ability. This camp is recommended for children 8-12 years. OPTIONAL | Lunch Hour Supervision If there is a camp ending as ours begins and you need your child transferred, let us know! And, if you’d like your camper to stay during the lunch hour, there’s a $25 fee for the week to cover the lunchtime gap. They can bring a lunch and have lunch with us with the option to do a fun craft after lunch.
