  • The Barn Redefined is excited to host another Christmas-themed festival ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ on November 2-5, 9-12 & 16-19. This event is a great place for holiday decorating ideas with one of the most anticipated features being the themed Christmas trees and this year, they have 20! Each year Santa makes an appearance and, this year, they will be collecting new toys for Anvil of Hope, a non-profit focused on helping low-income families, those facing homelessness and temporary hardship. The three weekends of events start Thursday, Nov. 2, and run through Sunday, Nov. 19. at 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays.   • During our Chocolate Making Classes you will learn, create, eat and laugh! We offer chocolate making classes for adults and children 5 years and older*. Our hands-on chocolate making classes are about 1 ½- 2 hours long and limited to 10 students (or 10 child/ parent teams). There you will learn the basics of working with chocolate, create your own bark, molded chocolates and more. During class, students will play with favorite flavors like salted caramel and peanut butter cup and select monthly themed flavors made by chocolatier Michelle Lomelin. Students will also select from more than two dozen ingredients as they personalize a chocolate bark – with favorite flavors including freeze dried fruits and savory pretzels, potato chips and a wide selection of nuts. Plus, you will get to keep all your creations! Our chocolate making classes are offered one Saturday a month and each month has its own theme. This month we celebrate all things citrus! For molded chocolates we will have kalamansi ganache and yuzu caramel. For barks we will have candied orange peel, candied lemon peel, crushed Lemonheads and crystallized lime. *each child 5-12 yrs. old must have a parent helper.   • On Thursday, October 19th, Mavericks Beach Club will be hosting their biggest charity event of the year, the SDFD Mustache Madness. The event includes live music, mustache contests, passed apps and drinks, one-of-a-kind silent auction items, raffle prizes, and much more, all in support of Firefighter Aid. Firefighter Aid’s mission is to provide charitable assistance to firefighters and their families in times of need and to promote awareness of firefighter health and safety issues, and the impacts they have upon their families and communities. The event takes place from 5:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. Tickets, which are $20 with 100% of proceeds going to Firefighter Aid, can be purchased here!

  • Vista's 65th Annual Christmas Parade begins at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2. The theme this year is "Viva Vista!" in honor of the Vista Chamber's 100th Anniversary. More than 15,000 people are expected to attend this family favorite event. The parade will begin at the Wave Waterpark, pass by the Cinepolis movie complex and make its way through Vista Village and then head down South Santa Fe where it will end at the street's intersection with Civic Centre Drive. There are more than 85 entrants. This year's Grand Marshall is Danny Villasenor. He and his wife own and operate the iconic Pepper Tree Frosty, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary in Downtown Vista. The parade will culminate with the arrival of Santa Claus, Vista Resident JC Wynne and lifelong friend to Danny. It's a parade filled with nostalgia and sweet memories.
