  • The Carlsbad Village Street Faire features over 750 unique vendors with a little of everything: arts & crafts, antiques, unique clothing, items from around the world, and more. Children’s rides, an international food center, and an old-fashioned pancake breakfast guarantee that you’ll find fun for the whole family!Parking for this very popular event is limited, so visitors are encouraged to use the complimentary shuttles that run to and from the faire every 15 minutes. The shuttle pick-up locations are at the northwest corner of Sears at Shoppes at Carlsbad Plaza Camino Real (Highway 78 and Jefferson) as well as at the Poinsettia Coaster Station (Poinsettia exit off of I-5).   • This will be Coronado MainStreet's annual car show, MotorCars on MainStreet, featuring over 400 pre-73 restored classic, rod and custom cars & trucks. The event will be held in downtown Coronado, one block from the beach, at Isabella & Orange Avenues.   • Ramona Chamber of Commerce will present the First Annual Tacos & Beer Fest. The Chamber plans to hold this family event annually to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and add more activities each year.Seven food vendors will be participating. Each of five taco trucks will feature a specialty taco and sell their full menu as well: Sophia’s Kitchen: Quesabirria Tacos; Tacos al Gusto: Taco Trio (Lengua, Cabeza, Tripas); FallBrkeats: Korean Taco; Tacos Rápido y Sabroso: Al Pastor; and Los Cachos Birria: Enchilado Taco. La Michoacána Sonmex will offer Mexican munchies and Café Lotería will serve churros and corn in a cup along with other goodies. Enjoy your favorites with some Mexican beer, tequila shot, or Micheladas. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.Live music all day long will feature Banda 619, Sangre Azull, and Los Nuevos Ayalas.   • This spring, a striking new art installation will transform the arrival court lawn of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido (CCAE). * (pronounced “Star”) is a 30-foot geometric sculpture, an awe-inspiring piece that blends mathematical precision with artistic vision. By day, the structure’s aluminum spikes and fabric sails interact with the shifting light, creating an elegant yet imposing presence. By night, 30 individually programmable LED floodlights illuminate the sails, transforming the sculpture into a glowing beacon visible from afar."*(Star)" is the latest work from Glass House Arts, an Escondido-based artist collective known for large-scale, immersive sculptures that invite curiosity and connection. Originally designed for Burning Man, this installation celebrates its roots by returning to the city where it was built—Escondido.
