  • The San Diego Automotive Museum will be hosting its monthly Cars & Coffee community event on Sunday, February 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. This is an exciting way to get outside on Sunday at beautiful Balboa Park and see cars of all makes and models while enjoying coffee and donuts courtesy of Jeffrey Wilber of HomeStreet Bank of San Diego. The community is invited to visit the Museum during Cars & Coffee for a discounted admission price ($10 before 10am) or partake in the completely free event outside with coffee and donuts (while supplies last) for guests to enjoy while browsing the wide array of vehicles. The public is also invited to bring their own cars to display in the parking lot for other spectators to enjoy. The “Unpopular Mechanics: A Look at Some of History’s Most Controversial Cars and their Stories” exhibit is on display until March 26, 2023. The San Diego Automotive Museum will be showing off some of the most controversial cars to ever hit the road and delving into why they were viewed as so. Some featured vehicles include the 1936 Chrysler Imperial Airflow, 1936 DeSoto Airflow, 1957 Ford Edsel, 1975 AMC x Levi's Gremlin X, and a 2001 Pontiac Aztek.   • 3 Sundays: February 12, 19, 26 from 1 – 4 p.m. Some sewing experience required: you must know how to thread a machine and wind a bobbin. Ages 16+ welcome! This 3-week course spans a total of 9 hours of instruction. Learn to sew zippers, hoods, pockets and more – along with the importance of following grainlines, and how to properly measure your body and read a pattern. During the process, you’ll make your own hoodie or pullover. Instructor Tracey Herriot will show you simple troubleshooting tips, and walk students through the steps of sewing their own garment.
