  • NOTE: The reception will take place on Saturday, January 17 at 7 p.m.(not Friday at 6:30 p.m. as previously noted). A Multi-Sensory Exhibition Curated by journalist and Emmy-nominated host Anissa Ocansey "EFORI" is a multi-sensory art exhibition exploring the profound relationship between scent and human perception. Rooted in both scientific inquiry and cultural frameworks, the exhibition examines olfaction as a powerful repository of memory, identity, and interpretation. Through carefully composed sensory environments, "EFORI" invites viewers to consider how smell shapes the way we experience, recall, and understand the world around us. The exhibition features original scents created from ethically sourced botanicals, each paired with three to four visual accompaniments. These include paintings, interactive installations, and digital media works that respond to and amplify the emotional and conceptual qualities of each scent. By pairing curated fragrances with corresponding visual elements, "EFORI" presents the macrocosm alongside the microcosm—moving between the intimate and the expansive, the scientific and the poetic. Visitor engagement is central to the exhibition experience. Guests are invited to interact with scent samplers, access QR-code–triggered audio reflections, and contribute to an interactive reflection wall. A micro gift shop will also be available, offering limited-edition scents developed specifically for the exhibition. Together, these elements create a layered sensory dialogue—one that foregrounds smell as both an interpretive lens and an artistic medium, revealing the subtle yet profound ways scent influences perception, emotion, and meaning. Validated parking is available in the LAZ garage for event attendees. Brokers Gallery on Facebook / Instagram

The ten selected artists approach painting through subject matter that ranges from the cosmos to the back garden—moving from tactile works that evoke celestial bodies to figurative paintings that portray the self spiritually, mentally, and materially, grappling with reality and circumstance. "As Above – So Below" presents the universal alongside the transcendental, and the everyday beside the inexplicable. Please join us for the reception: Friday January 9 at 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Free Admission Validated parking is available in the LAZ garage for event attendees.
