The Rhoades School’s Girl Rising Club – a middle school girls-led club that works to raise money to give girls across Guatemala, Bangladesh, and the Philippines access to education – is inviting the wider community to attend their cultural bazaar on April 24 from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. located at 910 Encinitas Blvd, Encinitas. This event is FREE to the public (no ticket required) and will feature students’ handmade crafts, jewelry, food and baked goods, and a raffle with prizes from local businesses like Cinepolis and Aloha that are available to purchase to support girls’ education worldwide. Prison Arts Collective (PAC), in collaboration with the California Western School of Law Innocence and Justice Clinic, presents "Art of Resilience", an exhibition highlighting art as a human right and creative expression as a bridge between communities. Featuring diverse works created by incarcerated artists participating in PAC programs, "Art of Resilience" reflects themes explored in classes offered across California correctional facilities. Participants range from first time artists to experienced professionals, these works illuminating their experiences in the prison system. Headquartered at San Diego State University, PAC has provided arts programming and leadership training to more than 10,000 incarcerated participants statewide since 2013.
