This year’s conference will be held at San Diego State University, co-hosted by SDSU and Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Norte (UABC) in collaboration with other U.S. and Mexican partners. The conference will include interactive sessions involving interdisciplinary teams of researchers, educators, artists, public policy experts, industry leaders and community members. The conference will be bilingual, in English and in Spanish, including simultaneous translation sessions and activities. Planned sessions will address opportunities in ecological planning, social development, public and mental health, education access, economic policy, talent development, social inclusion, infrastructure development and cyber security. Established in 2015, the GI Film Festival San Diego is a multi-day showcase of films for, by, and about military and veteran experiences. Films featured in the festival reveal the struggles, triumphs, and experiences of service members and veterans.
