  • Learn Plain Weave, Clasped Weft & Hemstitching! Have you wanted to dive into the mindful, rhythmic, magic of weaving? In this rigid heddle loom workshop, students will learn to weave their own unique handwoven fabric in both plain weave (a classic, simple pattern) and clasped weft (where two wefts interconnect, creating unique patterns). Each student will learn the basics of how the loom works, a variety of simple weaving techniques, plain weave, clasped weft weaving, and finally, hemstitching for a finished piece. Students will weave a length of handwoven fabric of their choosing using the techniques in-class. Looms will be pre-warped in this class and students will weave together on Ashford Looms with 100% cotton fiber for a fiber-friendly afternoon. Beginners, as well as those with weaving experience are welcome. No experience necessary.   • Join us for an extraordinary showcase of creativity and talent from the UCSD Undergrad Studio Honors Program! Each year the UC San Diego’s Visual Arts department encourages the development of a clear and unified body of work over the course of two quarters by each student admitted to the Undergraduate Studio Honors Program. The group show at the end of this series showcases selections from these portfolios from each emerging artist. This exhibition is a culmination of this year's eleven students hard work and creative exploration, offering a glimpse into the future of their creative careers. A celebratory reception will be on June 6th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and provide guests the opportunity to meet the artists. The gallery will also provide small bites and drinks. The Adam D.
