They’ll learn about nutrition needs for animals, make some behavioral enrichment, take part in some husbandry activities, and meet and interact with some of the 100+ animal ambassadors that call Wild Wonders home. Our camps are always great fun and educational. Many kids return year after year. Our camps are on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning on June 20 and continuing through August 3. This Free Third Thursday, celebrate the launch of the full-color publication accompanying Celia Álvarez Muñoz's first museum retrospective with a talk by the artist. The publication will feature artwork by Celia Álvarez Muñoz, essays by Dr. Kate Green, MCASD Assistant Isabel Casso, and Josh Franco, and a conversation between Roberto Tejada and Celia Álvarez Muñoz.

This exhibition presents over 100 works of traditional and contemporary African craft, including furniture, pottery, basketry, textiles, jewelry, clothing, weapons, currency, and more. The objects originate from many areas of Africa, and are part of layered cultural stories and histories. Each work invites us not just to consider the object, but also the maker - a person often unknown to us - whose inspiration and sense of design made an everyday object extraordinary. African by Design is drawn from Mingei International Museum’s permanent collection and local private collections.
